Tasks:
- Oversee
the Class Agape program at Milal Mission, which holds classes to help the
developmentally disabled Korean children and young adults develop
intellectual and social abilities.
- Review
and coordinate with volunteer teachers to develop and modify curricula for
the various classes in the program, including classes to teach independent
living skills as well as arts and music.
- Ensure
daily schedules incorporate a balance of indoor/outdoor, quiet/active,
individual/group, and student-initiated/staff-initiated.
- Schedule
and collaborate with volunteer staff and other Milal Mission branches in
North America for special events such as field trips and summer camps.
- Collaborate
with other ministry members to implement religious teachings, goals, and
objectives into the program.
- Manage
recruiting, hiring and training of the volunteer educational staff
involved in the program.
- Coordinate
and direct monthly newsletters to inform the community and to encourage
participation in program.
- Communicate
with parents and volunteer staff as to the philosophy and policies of
Milal’s Class Agape program.
- Maintain
annual student portfolios and oversee periodical student evaluations and
parent conferences to report student development and/or other changes.
- Provide
opportunities for volunteer staff to give input and feedback regarding
curriculum, environment, and the overall program.
