Tasks:
·
Under
the supervision of Executive Director, assist with the Class Agape program at
Milal Mission, which hold classes to help the developmentally disabled Korean
children and young adults develop intellectual and social abilities.
·
Counsel
families involved with the Class Agape program regarding the care of children
with mental and physical disabilities as well as issues, progress, and behavior
of children in the program.
·
Maintain
student portfolios, and consult with parents to report student development and/or
other changes.
·
Coordinate
with volunteer teachers to develop and modify curricula for the various classes
in the program, including classes that teach living skills, bible studies,
etc., so that schedules incorporate a balance of indoor/outdoor, quiet/active,
individual/group, and student-initiated/staff-initiated.
·
Collaborate
with other ministry members to implement religious teachings, goals, and
objectives into the program.
·
Confer
with ministry members and volunteer teachers regarding input and feedback
regarding curriculum, environment, and the overall program.
·
Coordinate
in sending out monthly newsletters to inform the community and to encourage
participation in program.
·
Collaborate
with volunteer staff and other Milal Mission branches in North America for
special events such as field trips, church retreats and bible camps to ensure
they accommodate all of the disabled children's needs.
